It marks the inaugural Royal Oak to present this revered escapement without additional functions, setting it apart from earlier models like the 1997 limited edition, the 1999 Tradition d'Excellence, and subsequent Chrono Tourbillon or Concept versions. In 2018, reference 26522ST.OO.1220ST.01 entered the collection, featuring a stainless steel case and a plum dial adorned with a sunburst “Tapisserie Evolutive” pattern.
