Between 1996 and 2005, IWC produced the Pilot's Watch Doppelchronograph ref. 3713, the second pilot's watch to feature a split-second chronograph. Offered in stainless steel, yellow gold, or platinum, it included various dials and multilingual day discs, with stainless steel versions available on straps or bracelets and five platinum examples on bracelets. From 2003, the 3713 exclusively used Spitfire-type dials, including the stainless steel and black dial reference IW3713-04.
