Created between approximately 1996 and 2005, the IWC Pilot's Watch Doppelchronograph ref. 3713 represented the second pilot watch by IWC to utilize a split-second chronograph. Options included stainless steel, yellow gold, or platinum cases with various dials and multilingual day-discs, with steel models offered on straps or bracelets and only five platinum examples produced on bracelets. From 2003, all 3713 models transitioned to Spitfire-style dials; reference IW3713-21 features a platinum case and a blue dial.
