Between approximately 1996 and 2005, IWC produced the Pilot's Watch Doppelchronograph ref. 3713, the second pilot watch in their collection to feature a split-second chronograph. Offered in yellow gold, platinum, or stainless steel with different dial and day-disc options, the steel version was available on a strap or bracelet, while five platinum pieces were made on bracelets. As of 2003, the 3713 transitioned exclusively to Spitfire-style dials, including the ref. IW3713-33, which is presented in a stainless steel case with a black 'Spitfire' dial.
