Manufactured from about 1996 to 2005, the IWC Pilot's Watch Doppelchronograph ref. 3713 was the second pilot's watch by IWC to utilize a split-second chronograph. It was provided in stainless steel, yellow gold, or platinum, with multiple dial and multilingual day-disc choices; the steel model was available on a strap or bracelet, and five platinum pieces were made with bracelets. After 2003, the 3713 was restricted to Spitfire-style dials, including the ref. IW3713-40 with a stainless steel case and black Spitfire dial.
