The Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle, a landmark in the brand's history, was created in the 1930s by Longines and Charles Lindbergh. It evolved from the Weems Second-Setting Watch, developed in the early 1920s by Longines/Wittnauer and Captain Phillip Van Horn Weems; that earlier watch had a rotating inner seconds scale for fast synchronization with radio time signals (which were far more accurate). The Lindbergh model added intricate dial and bezel markings to calculate the hour angle, transforming a simple watch into a navigational aid for determining longitude; reference L2.601.4.11.2 has a 38mm stainless steel case.
