Longines chose traditional, elegant shapes for its Column-Wheel chronograph, reminiscent of the watches that underpinned its 20th-century renown. The 39 cm stainless steel or rose gold case houses the L688.2 calibre, with its workings on display through the transparent sapphire caseback. Rose dauphine hands move over a silvered or black dial featuring eight rose hour symbols; functions include a date, small seconds at 9 o'clock, a dragging 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, and a dragging 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock. Steel editions are also made in 41 mm, and the piece is fitted on a brown or black alligator strap.
