The OMEGA Automatic Seamaster 300, released in 1957, was 'specially designed for professional and amateur divers,' water-resistant to 200 meters, and named 300 because its performance exceeded the testing devices of the time. It featured calibre 28 SC-501, a matt black oxidised dial with Arabic numerals at the quarters, luminous triangular hour markers, arrowhead radium hands, a rotating bezel for dive timing, and the Seahorse medallion on the caseback. French commercial diver Alain Julien attested to its extraordinary solidarity and precision, reporting that each diver made over 1,500 dives without defects. Seamaster ref: 2225.80.00
