Launched in 2024, the OMEGA Speedmaster First OMEGA in Space 310.32.40.50.06.002 reinterprets the CK 2998 worn by Wally Schirra on Sigma 7 (October 3, 1962) — the first OMEGA wristwatch in space — in a 39.7 mm polished-and-brushed stainless-steel case styled after the second-generation Speedmaster from 1959, with a black aluminium bezel carrying the dot-over-ninety tachymeter scale. On a brown calf leather strap with a stainless-steel pin buckle, the watch houses a CVD-coated grey-blue dial under a hesalite-like sapphire crystal with internal AR, featuring Alpha-style hands and applied markers with vintage Super-LumiNova, a white-varnished central seconds hand, 30-minute/12-hour/small-seconds subdials, and vintage OMEGA logos. The solid caseback bears a Seahorse medallion and the engravings 'THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE' and 'OCTOBER 3, 1962,' while power comes from the manual-wind METAS-certified Calibre 3861 with about 50 hours of reserve.
