This limited edition of 5441 numbered pieces commemorates Apollo XII, featuring the 'Eyes on the Stars' patch on the second subregister and a large crystal caseback engraved 'Omega – The Moon Watch – Snoopy Award – Limited Edition – 0000/5441' (ref. ST 145.0031). Snoopy's popularity, affirmed by Apollo 10 naming its lunar module after him and command module after Charlie Brown, made him NASA's manned flight awareness watchdog; the Silver Snoopy award, still given today, includes a sterling silver pin flown on the Space Shuttle, plus a certificate and astronaut-signed commendation letter. Omega received its Snoopy Award on 5 October 1970 for the Speedmaster's crucial role in Apollo 13.
