The Omega Speedmaster X-33 was launched in 1998 as a modern-day Moonwatch, now referred to as the 'Mars Watch', with a high-tech titanium case and an analog/digital movement with a specific set of functions. A second generation followed in 2001 with minor updates. Reference 3991.50.09, from the second generation, is most easily recognized by its matte bezel insert and distinct crown.
