The Rolex Day-Date 40 was introduced in 2015 as a mid-sized alternative to the Day-Date 36 and Day-Date II. Constructed from 18 ct yellow gold, the 40 mm Oyster case is water-resistant to 100 meters. Reference 228238-0005, released in 2016, features a fluted bezel and a champagne dial set with baguette-cut diamond hour markers. It is powered by the self-winding calibre 3255 with a 70-hour power reserve and is mounted on an 18 ct yellow gold President bracelet.
