Debuting in 2008, the Day-Date II utilizes a larger case size to continue the tradition of the original Day-Date, the first timepiece to show the full day of the week. Used by world leaders, the arc-shaped display supports many different languages. Its mechanism is designed to change both the day and date simultaneously at midnight, reflecting Rolex's commitment to quality. The Day-Date II was replaced by the Day-Date 40 in 2015.
