Launched in 1988, the Rolex GMT-Master 16700 was the final iteration to utilize a fixed 24-hour hand, unlike the independently adjustable hand found on the GMT-Master II. Produced until approximately 1999 alongside the 16710, this model was offered exclusively in stainless steel. Luminous elements transitioned from tritium to Luminova around 1998.
