The 140 and 142 series chronographs are among Sinn's most renowned watches, having played a significant role in space exploration history. Astronaut Reinhard Furrer proved that automatic timepieces could operate in zero gravity while wearing a 140 S with a Lemania 5100 movement during the 1985 D1 Spacelab mission, followed by Klaus-Dietrich Flade wearing a 142 S on the 1992 Mir-92 mission. The updated 140 St now features the SINN SZ01 movement with a central jumping 60-minute stopwatch hand, a scratch-resistant TEGIMENT-hardened bead-blasted steel case, and Ar-Dehumidifying Technology to ensure reliability and clarity.
