The 140 and 142 series chronographs are among Sinn’s most iconic timepieces, having played a significant role in space exploration history. After Reinhard Furrer proved automatic watches could operate in weightlessness during the 1985 D1 Spacelab mission and Klaus-Dietrich Flade carried the 142 S on the 1992 Mir-92 mission, Sinn updated the 140 series with the SZ01 movement. This model features a center-mounted 60-minute stopwatch hand, a TEGIMENT-hardened bead-blasted stainless steel case with Black Hard Coating, and Ar-Dehumidifying Technology to prevent fogging.
