TAG Heuer was formed in 1984 when Techniques d'Avant Garde, makers of high-tech items like ceramic turbochargers for Formula 1 cars, acquired Heuer, founded in 1860 by Edouard Heur in St-Imier. The Carrera Chronograph, designed by Jack Heuer in 1964, pays tribute to the Carrera Panamericana Mexico race and its daring drivers, including five-time Formula 1 World Champion Juan Manuel Fangio. The Carrera line remains an icon today, particularly admired by Leonardo DiCaprio (ref. CV2050.BD0789).
