As the first movement featuring a high-frequency escapement to receive COSC chronometer certification, the L.U.C Calibre 01.06-L operates at 8 Hz, or 57,600 vibrations per hour. Developed by Chopard Technologies in Fleurier, this mechanical movement achieves a 60-hour power reserve from a single barrel despite the high energy demands of its frequency. Engineers utilized silicon for the escape wheel, lever, and impulse-pin, implementing a patent-pending method to secure silicon to steel.
