The IWC-built 82915 caliber is a sophisticated automatic movement equipped with a flying minute tourbillon, engineered to endure intense impacts via IWC’s proprietary SPRIN-g PROTECT® shock absorption technology. Debuting in 2021, this design utilizes a cantilever spring made of bulk metallic glass (BMG), which offers superior elasticity through its amorphous structure. Its geometry, optimized via simulation, allows the movement to withstand over 10,000 g, while skeletonized components reduce mass and the Pellaton winding system provides an 80-hour reserve.
