The L990 served as the final in-house automatic caliber from Longines, spawning variants like the L989 for Hour Angle models, the date-less L992, and the L993 which lacks both date and seconds. Versions labeled .1 contain 25 jewels, while .2 versions feature 17. Following its retirement by Longines, the architecture continued as the Lemania 8810, later evolving into the Lemania 8815 used by premium brands such as Breguet.
