The L990 represents the final self-winding caliber produced internally by Longines. Multiple iterations were developed, including the L992 (no date), the L993 (no date or seconds), and the L989 designed for Hour Angle timepieces. Models designated with .1 utilize 25 jewels, whereas .2 variants contain 17 jewels. Following its retirement by Longines, the architecture continued as the Lemania 8810, later evolving into the Lemania 8815 for use by premium brands such as Breguet.
