The Cosmograph Daytona utilizes the calibre 4130, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement created and produced in-house by Rolex. Its design uses fewer parts than a typical chronograph to improve overall reliability. As with all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 4130 is a Swiss chronometer, a title granted to high-accuracy timepieces that pass the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) evaluations.
