The P.9012 caliber improves upon the P.9002 with a thinner design and a dual-supported balance bridge. Produced at the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel, this automatic movement features central hour, minute, and GMT hands, a small seconds display at 9 o'clock, a power reserve indicator at 5 o'clock, and a date at 3 o'clock. Energy for the three-day power reserve is stored in two barrels wound by a bidirectional oscillating weight. The movement is 13¾ lignes wide, 6 mm thick, and contains 231 components and 31 jewels, with a balance frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz).
